A few quick shots from a family trip to Cold Spring, NY and good times in Texas.
All shot with Kodak 3200 TMZ on the trusty old Canon AE-1… quick scans on Epson V500.

friends.
June 22, 2009
A couple weeks ago, we rented some studio space, gathered a few friends & had a full day of test shooting in an effort to bulk up my friend Mo’s styling portfolio. It’s really funny to watch your normal friends turn Zoolander when you put a little makeup on ‘em.
Models:
Tyler Schwartz : Chess Instructor/Jazz Musician
Rachel Carter : Elementary school teacher
Annie Walker : Cake Designer/Baker
Morgan McGuire : Actress

Here’s a sample of what we came up with. For more images, check out www.melinakemph.com in a few weeks.

50 POLAROIDS
June 18, 2009
Digital Polaroids that is… finally dumped my iPhone photos onto the computer & realized how many images are on that little thing. Here are 50 of my favorite iPhone Polaroids… some for aesthetic reasons, some for sentimental reasons. What are your favorite phone pics that you’ve taken?

Lately…
June 17, 2009
What a fun week… I’ve shot three fashion jobs with my new super-stylist Mo. She’s amazing, and it’s been really awesome to have her join the team… http://melinakemph.com/ is under construction… be sure I’ll post about it when it’s complete though. So many fun shots still being edited, but couldn’t dare go a whole week without a blog post, so here’s a quick one.
Meet Christopher from today’s shoot in Prospect Park.

On another note… I bought a new MacBook Pro last week, and have to say… I’m disappointed. The glossy screen far outweighs the larger processor in my opinion… I suppose I should have paid closer attention to all those complaints before making the purchase.

On a final note… so much good music lately. Here are my top 9 from the last couple weeks…

Zach Williams
June 10, 2009
We each get music recommendations all the time. I think the root of these recommendations typically stem from the fact that a) the recommender is friends with the band, b) the recommender is trying to impress a girl or c) the recommender is, well, just trying to be hip. I’m certainly guilty of this from time to time… we all want to be associated with things we deem grand.
This isn’t one of those times for me. I genuinely believe you’ll enjoy this musician, this album & especially this live show, when you get the chance. The name is Zach Williams. The album is “Story Time.” It’s on iTunes. He plays in the city pretty regularly… and puts on one of the best shows money can buy.
Here are a couple shots from last night’s CD Release show at Mercury Lounge. I realize they are not great photographs… stuck in the back of a crowded venue, enjoying the music & only shooting the final song.

After the show… a couple shots from my friend Talya’s rooftop.
